Funeral services for Mr. Alan Terence "Tip" Brian, 69, of Ramona, Oklahoma, and formerly of Naples, will be Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Naples.

Mr. Brian was born on October 13, 1946, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and grew up in Naples. He died October 5, 2016, due to complications from the effects of Mantel Cell Lymphoma that he had been fighting since mid August.

Tip was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He met Joan Gatlin at Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas, now Southern Arkansas State, where he played football. Tip and Joan were married in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 5, 1968. He received a Masters Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Geology from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M Commerce.

Tip taught in the Daingerfield ISD for seven years. After obtaining his Masters Degree in Geology, he went to work for Hinton Production Company of Mount Pleasant, Texas. He also became a licensed local pastor and served the New Boston area churches of Daniel's Chapel and Red Bayou FUMC.

In October 2002, Tip and his wife, Joan, moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he resumed his career as a Petroleum Geologist. While in Tulsa, Tip worked for Samson Resources and retired from Newfield Exploration on August 12, 2016

Tip and Joan were residents of Ramona, Oklahoma, and members of the Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Tip was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and held a Professional License in Geology. He love his work, his hobbies of bee keeping, hunting, fishing, building furniture and watching Texas A&M football with his sons. Tip Brian was so much more than can ever be summarized in one paragraph. Tip, you will be sorely missed. We love you.

He was preceded in death by his father, A.T. Brian, and a grandson, Carter Michael Brian. He is survived by his mother Rebecca Russell Brian, Fairview, Texas; wife of 48 years, Joan Gatlin Brain, Ramona, Oklahoma; twin brother Alfred Thomas Brian and sister-in-law Sharon Brian, Allen Texas; sister Carol Henry, Aubrey, Texas; sister Rebecca Pate and brother-in-law Jerry Pate, Fairview, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, and granddaughters, Clint and Leslie Brian, Savannah, Caroline and Georgia, Tulsa, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, granddaughter and grandson, Clay and Megan Brian, Mia and Gavin, Orlando, Florida; three nieces, four nephews, six grand-nieces and four grand-nephews.
