Obituary

Arthur Wayne Boyd was born December 28, 1925 to William Charles Boyd and Eula Lucy Donnell Boyd in Lubbock county. He passed away November 28, 2017 in Longview, Texas.

Arthur was raised in Lubbock and attended school in Woodrow, Texas. On November 28, 1944, Arthur and Bernice Boyd were married and have shared a lifetime of mutual devotion and experiences. They made their home in Lubbock, Texas, where they later had three sons. In the early 1950's, they moved their family to Kress, Texas, where they farmed until the mid-80's. After retiring from farming, they moved to the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas at Omaha where they raised cattle and had a contract with Pilgrim's Pride to raise chickens. They really enjoyed the small town Texas lifestyle. Arthur loved his family and was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and friend. He loved people and he loved to go to the coffee shop every morning and spend time with his friends. He had lots of stories to tell. He also really enjoyed attending tractor/farm equipment auctions, school reunions and family reunions.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy Boyd of Omaha; and two brothers, RB Boyd of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Weldon Boyd of Lubbock.
