Barbara Ann Meadows, age 79, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home. Barbara was born December 3, 1937 in Omaha, to Kenneth Leslie Thigpen and Thelma Tigert Thigpen.

Barbara was a member at the First United Methodist Church in Omaha. She was Justice of the Peace in Morris County for many years. She was a member of the Morris County Child Welfare Board and the Texas Justice of the Peace Association. Barbara enjoyed reading, travelling, and being very active in her church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Kenneth Thigpen and Jerry Thigpen.

Surviving family members include her husband, James Meadows of Omaha; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ann Casey and Mike Johnson of Naples and Pam Meadows of Omaha; one son and daughter-in-law, James "Jimmy" Meadows and wife Laurie of Millers Grove, Texas; one brother, Mike Thigpen of Omaha; five grandchildren, Tara Casey, Tim Schwab and wife Ashley, Joseph Meadows, Allan Meadows and wife Bree, and Heath Meadows and wife Taylor; nine great-grandchildren, Makayela Corona, Braxton Coffey, Bentley Scholl, Jayden Schwab, Ellora Holt, Addalyn Schwab, Maverick Meadows, Prestyn Meadows and Fallyn Meadows; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Janet Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Naples.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Omaha.
