Bernice Norma Dale Faulkner Boyd was born August 22, 1927 to Johnny Luther Faulkner and Oga Elva Smith Faulkner in Brownfield, Texas in Lynn County. She passed away December 15, 2017 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Bernice was raised in the Harlingen and Lubbock Texas areas and finished school in Lubbock. On November 28, 1944, Bernice and Arthur Wayne Boyd were married and have shared a lifetime of mutual devotion and experiences. They made their home in Lubbock, Texas, where they later had three sons. In the early 1950's, they moved their family to Kress, Texas, where they farmed until the mid-80's. After retiring from farming, they moved to the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas at Omaha where they raised cattle and had a contract with Pilgrim's Pride to raise chickens. They really enjoyed the small town Texas lifestyle of Kress and Omaha. Bernice was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and friend. She really enjoyed visiting with her family and attending family reunions.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; her parents; one son, Jimmy Boyd of Omaha; and 8 brothers and sisters; Johnny, Aubrey, JR, Elton, Eddie, Alice Beard, Kenneth, and Faye Faulkner.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are two sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry and Janie Boyd of Lubbock, Phillip and Bonnie Boyd of Omaha, and Connie Boyd of Omaha; eight grandchildren, Steven Boyd, Shayne Boyd, Sheree Bunny, Brian Boyd, Allen Boyd, Jason Boyd, Amanda White, and Sherri Boyd; twenty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. In Lubbock, the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Sanders Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Sanders Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery in Lubbock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas.
