Bettie Virginia Evans, age 66, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Longview, Texas. Bettie was born February 18, 1952 in Daingerfield, Texas to Marion Henry Gilmore and Lucy Faye Shaddix Gilmore.

Bettie was a bus driver for Paul Pewitt CISD for many years. She loved to crochet and knit. She also enjoyed the times of camping and swimming with her family.

Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Evans, in 2014; her parents; four brothers, Woodrow Gilmore, Lucky Gilmore, Ronnie Gilmore, and Steven Gilmore; and one grandson, Blake Butterfield.

Survivors include her mother-in-law, Hazel Evans of Quitman, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Athena and Michael Butterfield of Hughes Springs, Texas, and Amanda Mongognia of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Julie Evans of Linden, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Alfred and Willie Jeam Gilmore of McKinney, Texas, and Mark Gilmore of Cason, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Felicia and Leon Standard of Greenville, Texas, and Linda and Jim Hamilton of Jenkins, Texas; eight grandchildren, Cody Butterfield, CJ Butterfield, Michaela Butterfield, Justin Evans, Chloe Evans, Damian Mongognia, Anthony Mongognia, and Caden Mongognia; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Butterfield, Renesmae Butterfield, and Jacob Butterfield; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
