Betty Jean Bishop, age 74, of Rocky Branch, Texas, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, at her home.  Betty was born March 11, 1948, in Omaha, Texas to Roy Lee Martin and Mary Geneva Godfrey Martin.

Betty was a member of the Circle C Cowboy Church in Mt. Pleasant, Texas where she was very active in the Chuckwagon Ministry.  She worked for many years cooking at Lakeview Baptist Encampment.  She enjoyed making candy, sewing, cooking, and quilting.  Betty loved spending time with her family and she especially loved a campfire.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Bishop, in 2021; her parents; three brothers, Johnny Martin, Charles Martin, and Elvin Martin; and four sisters, Mary Lee Proctor, Ava Nell Brummell, Margaret Trent, and Ginger Robertson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Robbi Bishop of Mt. Pleasant and Terry and Gina Bishop of Ore City, Texas; one sister, Patricia Foster of Rocky Branch; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Monica Martin of Rocky Branch; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Springhill Cemetery in Rocky Branch with Bro. James Baker officiating.
