Betty Jean Ferrell, age 93, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Betty was born June 11, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Martin Paul Pittman and Mary Lee Pate Pittman.
Betty attended Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Betty was a very accomplished piano player and organist, and spent many years as the pianist/organist at the First United Methodist Church in Omaha. Even in her last years, Betty loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, and word puzzles. Betty was also a wonderful cook.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Ferrell; her parents; one son, Don Ferrell; and one sister, Marilyn Sorley.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Miles of Smithville, Missouri; three sons and four daughters-in-law, Mike and Jeanne Ferrell of Houston, Texas, Ken and Bonnie Ferrell of Weatherford, Texas, Robert and Sharon Ferrell of Norman, Oklahoma, and Brenda Ferrell of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with Brother Tim Anderson and Brother Kenny Turnipseed officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha.
