Obituary

Betty Lee McKaig, age 94, of Naples, Texas, formerly of Junction City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Betty was born August 23, 1922 in Junction City, Kansas to Clarence Orville McDonald and Flora Mae Kessinger McDonald.

Betty was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Junction City, Kansas. Upon moving to Texas she attended Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha. She retired from the United States Civil Service. She was Charter Member of the Fraternal Order Of Eagles in Junction City, Kansas and a member of TOPS and KOPS. She loved bowling, crocheting, and playing cards.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett "Gene" McKaig, in 1994; her parents; one daughter Barbara Robinson; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Surviving family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Teresa Mann of Mesa, Arizona, Gene and Sinoa McKaig of Junction City, Kansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Gaskin of Naples, Texas. Nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Concord Missionary Baptist Church Benevolence Fund.
