Bettye Ruth Dunn Schumacher, age 81, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Bettye was born December 28, 1939 in Deport, Texas, to John Albert Stockton and Lena Belle Hall Stockton.

Bettye was Baptist in faith.  She retired from the food service industry.  Betty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Dunn; one daughter-in-law, Violet Dunn; and one grandson, Chris Dunn.

Survivors include one son:  Kevin Dunn of Omaha; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Daryl Braun of Omaha and Tonya and Greg Hammonds of Pittsburg, Texas; seven grandchildren, April Nipp and husband Drew, Devon Schluter and husband Harley, amber Andrade and husband Daniel, Eric Braun and wife Patricia, Halley Goodwin, Jaysa Stiver, and Michael Dunn; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Naples, Texas.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
