Obituary

Beverly Jean Finley Henderson, age 92, passed away on June 11, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Beverly was born March 18, 1933, in Chico County, Arkansas, to Ruth and Scott Finley, the second of six siblings.

Beverly grew up in Eudora, Arkansas and graduated from Eudora High School in 1951. After High School, Beverly moved to Mt. Pleasant, Texas to be near her sister Peggy. There, she met her future husband Bill on a blind date. She married William Warren (Bill) Henderson in 1954 and moved to Naples, Texas where they made their home together for 58 years until his death in 2012. Beverly worked for Lone Star Steel Company for 40 years where she made many lifelong friends. Beverly was an active member of First UMC Naples for over 60 years where she sang in the choir and served in many capacities. When not at work, Beverly enjoyed family time, hosting and helping friends and family, traveling, square and round dancing, shopping, decorating her home and especially playing golf! Beverly moved to Tyler in 2016 to live near Holly and Mark. In the last few years her greatest pleasure was spending time with her great grandchildren Emma, Sadie, and Hayes.

Beverly was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, her parents Ruth and Scott Finley, In-laws Cranford and Helen Henderson, Hazel and Morris Rolston, siblings Peggy, Harriet, Jayne, and Bud, step-daughter Kathy Fisher and husband Barney, and granddaughter Stephanie Gilmore.

Beverly is survived by daughter and son-in-law Holly and Mark Walling, one sister Sue Hurta and husband Johnnie, grandson Stephen Adams, granddaughter Whitney Jackson and husband CJ, great-grandchildren Jeremy Adams and wife Audra, Emma, Sadie, and Hayes Jackson, and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Naples with Rev. Jim Johnson and Rev. Daniel Rigsby officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the staffs of Prestige Estates Assisted Living and Memory Care in Tyler and Paloma Hospice for their loving care of Beverly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church- Naples, Texas or Pewitt Education Foundation.
