John Bill Calhoun, age 95, of Longview, Texas, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 in Longview, Texas. Bill was born May 11, 1923 in Okolona, Arkansas to George Wiley Calhoun and Gracie Mae Lisenby Calhoun.

Bill was a member at Bald Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas. He retired from the United States Navy. He then went to work for Kelly Tire Company in Tyler, Texas, where he was a supervisor. Bill was a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge in Tyler and the VFW #1836 in Lufkin. Bill spent the last years of his life at Buckner Westminster Place in Longview.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bess Calhoun; his parents; four brothers, George Calhoun, Jr., James Calhoun, Ralph Calhoun, and Kennith Calhoun; two sisters, Lois Crawford and Helen Pool.

Surviving family members include one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Martha Calhoun of Van, Texas; one stepdaughter, Barbara LeCompte of Jamestown, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Omaha Cemetery with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating.
