Billy Ray "Bill" Tucker, age 77, of Naples, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Bill was born March 8, 1944 in Douglassville, Texas to Joe Will Tucker and Thelma Gladine Hicks Tucker.
Bill spent his life in the timber industry, working with his brothers and later his sons. He worked cutting timber, and also owned a few wood yards. Bill was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Simms, Texas. He loved horses. He was a member of the American Paint Horse Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, and the Spotted Saddle Horse Association. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, ranching, and gardening. He also enjoyed mudbogging. He also enjoyed buying, selling, and trading. In recent years, Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Earl Tucker and Tommy Tucker.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Holly Tucker of Naples, and Chad and Sandi Tucker of Hughes Springs; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jo Ana Tucker of Omaha and Ashley and Chris Miller of Naples; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Bobby and Linda Tucker of Longview, Freddy and Karen Tucker of Judson, Thelma Tucker of Naples, and Peggy Tucker of Omaha; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bill Rice of Naples and Betty Tucker of Naples; six grandchildren, Téa Fair and husband Hunter, Nick Garrett, Gracie Tucker, Tucker Miller, Audra Miller, and Alexis Tucker; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Dr. Steve Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Creekmore Cemetery in Naples.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Creekmore Cemetery Association or Heart to Heart Hospice.
