Billy John Hicks, age 91, of Naples, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his home.  Billy John was born May 22, 1931, in Naples, Texas to Oden William Hicks and Mary Emily Wommack Hicks.

Billy John was a member of Rocky Point Congregational Methodist Church in Naples.  He retired from Lone Star Steel, where he worked in the rolling mill.  In addition to working at the plant, Billy John was a life-long rancher.  When his sons were younger, he coached little league baseball.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, riding horses, tending to his cattle, and carpentry work.

Billy John was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Johnny Ray Hicks; two brothers, Clois Hicks and Bub Hicks; three sisters, Iva Mae Richardson, Mildred Kennedy, and Doris Dunham.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Nina Hicks of Naples; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bud and Judy Hicks of Naples, and Sammy and Theta Hicks of Naples; one daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Bud Davlin of Omaha, Texas; one brother-in-law, Roy Dunham of Naples; ten grandchildren, Lauren Burckhard, Rebecca LeMere and husband Chandler, Richard Hicks, Ryan Baxter, Heather Johnson, Emily Avara and husband Jeremy, Duane Hicks and wife Lacy, Jesse Hicks and wife Mandy, Colt Davlin and wife Hallie, and Chance Davlin and wife Erin; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Creekmore Cemetery in Naples with Bro. Dwaine Higgins officiating.
