Blake Polson McMichael, age 27, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at his home. Blake was born January 23, 1990 in Texarkana, Texas to Jeffery Scott McMichael and Elizabeth Ann Griffin McMichael.

Blake was a member at First Baptist Church in Naples. He was a certified welder and had also worked in the logistics department of Big Tex Trailers. Blake was a member of the Naples Fire and Rescue Department, where he was a past rookie of the year. He was also a member of the American Motocross Association. He enjoyed motocross and fourwheeling. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring firearms, hunting, and fishing.

Blake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Luke Collier, and Major Retired George H. and Ronnie Griffin.

Surviving family members include his parents, Scott and Beth McMichael of Naples; grandmother, Lahoma Collier of Naples; one sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Mitch Walker of Daingerfield, Texas; two nieces, Madison Derrick and Landri Walker; one nephew, Tanner Teeter; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, Texas with Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. The family will gather at the funeral home between 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. Thursday, and proceed to the cemetery in procession.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Naples Volunteer Fire Department.
