Bobby Joe Lineberger, age 80, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Bobby was born January 6, 1936 in Hughes Springs to Finis Wayne and Charlene Norwood Lineberger.
Bobby retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers where he was a park ranger at Lake of the Pines. He was a member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas. Bobby was also a member of the David Elliott Masonic Lodge and a former Omaha city councilman. He enjoyed playing dominoes, going camping, and going fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving family members include his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Lineberger of Omaha; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Kitchens of Longview, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Wayne and Dorothy Lineberger of Hughes Springs, Texas; one granddaughter, Ashley Layton and husband Blake; one great-grandson, Jackson Layton; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Missionary Baptist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
