Mrs. Bonnie Ruth Motley (Williams), 85, of Omaha, Texas, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 2, 2018 due to complications of Alzheimer's disease. She is reunited with the love of her life, Mr. V.C. Motley, in heaven. They were joined in marriage on May 30, 1948 and shared 68 years together before his death on July 15, 2016.
Mrs. Motley was a homemaker, raising five children while working as a bookkeeper at the family business, Motley's Roofing and Sheet Metal in Longview, TX. Her son, Randall, took over the business in 1986. After retiring and moving to the farm in Omaha, TX in the 1990s she enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking care of various animals and spoiling the grandchildren. She also taught Sunday School lessons to all age groups at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister Mrs. Dollie Fitch, Dallas, TX; daughters Vivian (Ryan) Chalmers, Omaha, TX; Elizabeth Motley (Larry Briand), Kenosha, WI; Becky (Lyle) Watson, Hooks, TX; Brenda Sexton, Longview, TX; and son Randall (Linda) Motley, Longview, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Amy Briley, Jeff (Stephanie) Green, Stuart Collins, Lucy (Rusty) Bragg, Jared Sexton, Skyler (Jonathan) Galvan, MaKenzie Fuller, Joseph Motley and Rachel (Charles) Barker. Great grandchildren Austin and Sarah Green, Daxton and Arlo Bragg, Bentley and Bonnie Barker and Lydia and Samuel Galvan.
Preceding her in death were her parents Dalton and Josephine Williams; sisters Ona Taylor, Pearl Fry, Eloise Pilgrim and brothers Willie Williams, Isaac Williams, Fred Williams, Bud Williams, Travis Williams and infant great granddaughter, Liberty Green.
A special thank you to all of the loving caregivers at Bluebonnet Assisted Living in Naples, TX and Pleasant Springs Healthcare in Mt. Pleasant, TX and Heart to Heart Hospice in Mt. Pleasant, TX. Miss Bonnie was extremely blessed to have had such wonderful care the last 18 months.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel in Naples with Pastor Chris Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Omaha. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of financial memorials, Miss Bonnie requests that we be kind and forgive others.
