Samuel Bradley "Brad" Caraway, age 70, of Longview, Texas, passed away Monday,January 20, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Brad was born March 16, 1954, in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, to George Alvin Caraway, Jr. and Patsy Jeannine Vissering Caraway.

Brad was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Naples. He graduated from Paul H. Pewitt High School class of 1972. He was a member of the high school golf team and an excellent trumpet player in the Pewitt Band. Brad graduated with a bachelor degree from Stephen F. Austin State University where he was a member of the rodeo club and enjoyed team roping. He spent the majority of his early adulthood in the oilfield pipe industry that later led to work in the trucking industry. In recent years, Brad owned and operated Longview Blind and Shutter. He was a past president of the Naples Lions Club. He served on the board of directors of the International Barbecue Cookers Association. Brad loved cooking, especially barbecue. He traveled extensively competing in BBQ competitions. He enjoyed sharing his stories of life, his hard work, and determination. This is what kept him inspired. Brad "Pappaw" loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, George Alvin Caraway,III.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Caraway of Longview; one daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Brad Thomas of Sulphur Springs, Texas; one son, Josh Caraway of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Trey and Taylor Smith of Cookville, Texas; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Kathryn and Adam Schauer of Guilford, Connecticut; one brother, Kent Caraway of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one sister, Melissa Caraway of Coppell, Texas; one sister-in-law, Andi Caraway of Naples, Texas; ten grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating.
