Brandon Scott Cook, age 43, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Monday, February 18 , 2019 at home in his sleep.  Brandon was born May 28 , 1975 in Tyler, TX to    Paul Cook and Janette (Tigert) Cook.

As an avid cave diver, Florida's clear blue springs, underwater rivers and cave systems are what inspired Brandon to move to Gainesville from Texas in 2011 and join City Wide Maintenance as a Night Manager. Just six months later, he was promoted to Facility Services Manager.

Since then, Brandon has helped grow the City Wide presence in Gainesville by developing lasting customer relationships. (Ex: Santa Fe College [22 buildings], University of Florida Health [7 buildings], Oak Hall School [10 buildings], and Florida Medical Centers [8 buildings]).  In 2018, Brandon was promoted to Director of Operations after nearly seven years as a Facility Services Manager.

Before joining City Wide, Brandon had 10-plus years experience in customer service and account management at Wells Fargo, and DATAMARK, Inc.

Brandon earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications at the University of North Texas where he was also very active in the Delta Lodge fraternity.  He was instrumental in coordinating and putting on the Fry Street Fair by Delta Lodge, a popular music festival/charity event during his years in Denton.

Brandon was also an accomplished technical cave diver with extensive training under some of the most experienced cave divers in the world in Mexico and Florida in 2 of the most extensive underwater cave systems in the world.

Survivors include his two parents, Paul and Janette Cook of Omaha, TX; one brother and one sister-in-law, Barry and Kathy Cook of Monument, CO; two nephews and one niece, Connor, Brady and Makenna Cook of Monument, CO; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
