Brenda Joyce Wright, age 67, of Omaha, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in a Longview, Texas hospital. Brenda was born June 11, 1948 to Ogell Dewey Sikes and Virginia Perkins Sikes.

Brenda was a school teacher, and she also worked at the Naples Monitor for a number of years. Her true passion in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Brenda was a member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also attended a women's bible study in Texarkana. She enjoyed crafts, reading, and playing cards with the church ladies.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Glen Sikes.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jesse B. Wright of Omaha; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and Michael Jarvis of Omaha, and Christy and Michael Mershawn of Rockwall; one sister-in-law, Shirley Wright of Omaha; five grandchildren, Donavan Jarvis, Megan Jarvis, Mikey Mershawn, McKenna Mershawn, and Ella Mershawn; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016, at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Nolan Richey and Rev. Glenn Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
