Chikita Venee Asay Heard, age 78 of Naples TX went to be with Jesus Thursday, July 1 ^st , 2021. She was born January 30, 1943 to Robert Woodrow Asay and Flora Venee Whitlock Asay in Batesville Arkansas.

Chikita, or Mz Chi as some knew her, attended Bar Nun Cowboy Ministries in Omaha Texas. She was one of the earliest parishioners of Bar Nun and loved everyone there dearly. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it be a cooked meal for someone who was ill, or simply someone to talk with. She drove all over the area to spend time visiting friends and rarely showed up empty handed.

She loved her "critters" - horses, dogs, cats and even the woodpeckers, raccoons and deer that would wander on to their place. She was a true Cowgirl through and through. She loved to go on trail rides with friends. She always said "I will ride until I just can't get up there anymore". And that she did. Her final horse ride was in May of this year.

Chikita is survived by her beloved husband, Odis Heard, a daughter, Tracy Arbanas, 5 nieces & nephews, Robin Asay, Sherry Asay, Robert Asay, Jason Asay, Michael Asay, 2 grandsons, Matthew Arbanas, Daniel Vasquez and one great grand-daughter, Hailey Shipley; and one young lady whom she adored and spent immeasurable time with – Mikayla Wommack.

Mrs. Heard was ready to leave this earth and go be with loved ones who had gone before her. She will forever remain in our hearts. All who knew and loved her will undoubtedly cherish their memories of this remarkable woman for a long time to come.

There will be a celebration of her life at Bar Nun Ministries in Omaha on Sunday July 18 ^th at 1:30 pm with Pastor Dwaine Higgins officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.
