Claudene Bowden West, age 83, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at her home. Claudene was born October 23, 1932 in Gilmer, Texas to Claude Elton Bowden and Bertha Edith Turner Bowden.

Claudene retired from the Upshur County Tax office. She was a member at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta. She enjoyed dancing, working in the yard, and fishing.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill West; and parents, Claude and Bertha Bowden.

Claudene is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Stony Osmon; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Bettie, Texas with Rev. Chas Carlisle officiating.
