Claudette Margaret Carter Wakefield, age 74, of Naples, Texas passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 in Pittsburg, Texas. Claudette was born October 2, 1946 in Naples, Texas the Harold Edward Carter and Margaret Lanora Jones Carter.
Claudette was an avid genealogist and loved digging through old records in search of elusive clues to our families past. She was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren. Claudette was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, loved reading, and spending time friends and family.
Claudette was preceded in death by husband Jimmy Wakefield and her parents.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Robert Foster of Omaha; four sons and daughters-in-law: Wade Wakefield and Ciara Dvorak, Doug Wakefield and wife Kay of Marietta, Darrell Wakefield and wife Tina of Hughes Springs, and Bill Reyno and husband Chris of Oak Cliff, Texas; two stepdaughters and one son-in-law: Amy Wakefield Cubbage and husband Ricky of Shenandoah, Virginia and Lyn Wright of McGaheysville, Virginia; two brothers David Carter and wife Tracey of Naples, John Carter and wife Nan of Florida, sister Mary Francis Lewis and husband Terry of Hockley, Texas and sister Barbara Carter of Naples; sixteen grandchildren: Zachary Reyno, David Wakefield and wife Kimber, Natalie Wakefield, Chaise Wakefield and wife Amanda, Dusty Wakefield, Codie Corah and Husband Steve, Ryan Reyno, Sarah (Katie) Reyno, Casey Austin and husband Brian, Chelsea Mowbray, Jennifer Wright, Marissa May and Travis Rickman, Katie Sims, Clayton Sims, Hailey Wakefield, and Tyler Wakefield; eleven great-grandchildren: Lucas, Damien, Gabriel, Paisley and Ellie Corah; Gabriel Ovalle; Emma Lou and Carson Wakefield; Derek Sims; Grayson Wakefield; Mia Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2019 at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples with Rev. James Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Naples.
