Corrine Vickers Womack was born on September 14, 1926 and passed away on May 14, 2023.

She was the oldest daughter of Dewey Titus Vickers and Gladys Beasley Vickers.  In her youth, the family moved often between Linden and Omaha, Texas, before finally settling in Omaha.

In 1950 she married Charles Thomas Womack and they settled in their new house on Daingerfield Street in Naples.  This was to be Corrine's home for the next 64 years.  In 2014 she moved to Sulphur Springs.

In her professional life, Corrine was involved in positions that involved numbers and logic.  In the late 1940s-early 1950s she helped bring in the first "bookkeeping machines" to Red River Army Depot.  In the early 1960s she established the Naples Credit Bureau.  She was the Tax Assessor/Collector for the Pewitt School District from 1962 until 1974.  She retired from the Loan Department at the Morris County National Bank in 1989.  But she also had an artistic side -- she was an expert seamstress, painter, embroiderer, and won competitions with her counted cross-stitch.

Corrine and Charles loved to camp – from tent camping in the '60s at Shady Lake, Arkansas, to purchasing their first travel trailer in 1970 and touring the South, to their days as 'snowbirds' and square dancers in South Texas avoiding the cold winter weather in Naples.  They made friends wherever they went and maintained those friendships though the years.

Corrine was most proud of her children and granddaughters.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Naples until her move.

Corrine is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Suzan and Ken Park and Ruth Womack and Don Hicks, son and daughter-in-law Rusty and Cindy Womack, granddaughters April Park and Marci Womack, sister Shirley Hunt, sister-in-law Gail Womack, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family is grateful to the staffs of Hopkins Place, Wesley House, Carriage House Manor and Choice Hospice in Sulphur Springs for their excellent care, as well as Dr. Bridgette Coker for her attentiveness and compassion. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your preferred charity.
