David Lee McCord, age 62, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mr. McCord was born February 7, 1953 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Ernest and Juanita Barnes McCord.

David retired from Scot Industries after 36 years. He then went to work for the Cass County Jail as a sergeant. He was a member at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest McCord; and one brother, Jimmy McCord.

Surviving family members include his mother, Juanita McCord of Marietta, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Marla McCord of Hughes Springs, Texas; one brother, Dwayne McCord of Marietta, Texas; four grandchildren, Lacy and Jimmy Wolfe, Lauren and Daniel Vaughan, Linzy McCord, and Chloe McCord; five great-grandchildren, Kadi, McKynzi, Heidi, Tucker, and Waylon; and one niece Lacey McCord.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta, Texas with Rev. Chas Carlisle officiating.
