David Gene Reames, age 77, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. David was born October 4, 1948, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Garmon Lee Reames and Thelma Jean McCord Reames.

David retired from Red River Army Depot where he was a mechanic. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and watching movies.

David was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Reames of Omaha; his mother, Thelma Reames of Naples, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Brent Ehrlish of Omaha; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Margarita Reames of Mount Pleasant, Texas; one sister, Martha Powell of Naples; one brother-in-law, Billy Easley of Omaha; four grandchildren, Jacob Morton and wife Courtney, Chelsee Reeves and husband Ryan, Elizabeth Reames, and Sammuel Villalva; three great-grandchildren, Aubree Reeves, Khouree Reeves, and Sadie Morton; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha with Jacky Dixon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in Mount Pleasant.
