Debra Marie "Debbie" Mitchell, age 62, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at her home.  Debbie was born November 28, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Melvin Haskell Nunley and Syble Marie Hardeman.

Debbie was a dedicated teacher.  She began her teaching career at Mount Vernon, spent over 20 years at Paul Pewitt, and eventually retired from Mount Pleasant ISD.  Debbie loved to travel, and especially loved going to the beach.  She enjoyed drinking wine, going to the casino, fishing, playing games, and working in her flower beds.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Steve Mitchell of Omaha; one daughter, Wendy Mitchell of Houston; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Danielle Mitchell of Prosper, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Melvin and Kathy Nunley of Scroggins, Texas and Kenneth Nunley of Leesburg, Texas; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Linda Martin of Hughes Springs, Texas, Regina and Tommy Brown of Simms, Texas, Sandy and Donnie Curry of Pottsboro, Texas, Connie Nunley of Omaha, and Frances and Troy Perry of Hughes Springs, Texas; one granddaughter, Shelby Mitchell; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Omaha Cemetery with Phillip Kelley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Cypress Basin Hospice.
