Richard Charles "Dickie" Morris, age 74, of Naples, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at his home. Dickie was born July 27, 1942 in Ajo, Arizona to Charlie Morris and Ruth Wilbanks Morris.

Dickie retired from the Morris County Sheriff's Department, where he was deputy sheriff, constable, and jailor. Dickie was also the nightwatchman in Naples for many years. Dickie was a seasoned welder and fabricator. He was a member of the Belden Masonic Lodge and the Naples Volunteer Fire Department.

Dickie was preceded in death by his wife, Dorthy Ann Morris in 2009; parents; and one brother, Billy Jack Morris.

Surviving family members include one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Alfred Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Paula Morris of Waskom, Texas; two grandchildren, Ashley Smith and Kristy Smith; one great-granddaughter, Mychelle; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the funeral home. No public funeral service will be held.
