Jeffie Donald "Don" Deaton passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, at his residence near Cushing, Texas. He was born February 8, 1940, in Cookville, Texas, to parents R.V. Deaton and Elsie Gentry Deaton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Formerly of Omaha, Texas, Don had lived in the Cushing area several years and was an electrical superintendent. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving family members include his wife, Jan Deaton; daughters, Cammie Deaton Mancuso and husband Dan, Connie Deaton Zimmer and husband Mike, and Kelly Deaton Moorehouse and husband Errol; stepdaughter, Staci Jill Martin; stepson, David Neal Wommack; one sister, Donna Jean Deaton; grandchildren, Crystal Taylor and husband Lance, Colton Moorhouse, McKenna Moorhouse, Haylee Womack, Brody Martin, and Kyndal Martin; and great-grandsons, Cash Taylor and Crew Taylor; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2014, at Harrison Funeral Chapel in Naples, Texas, with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for the Don Deaton Memorial Scholarship, c/o Morris County National Bank, Naples, Texas 75568.
