Donald Henry Collins, age 68, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Donald was born November 21, 1949 in Morenci, Arizona to Orley Richard Collins and Geraldine Croom Steele.

Donald retired from the United States Army. Upon retirement from the Army, Donald went to work as a guard at Red River Army Depot. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Morris County Line Band. Donald enjoyed playing, writing, and singing music, drawing, collecting coins, and dj-ing.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Orley Richard Collins and Geraldine Croom Steele.

Surviving family members include his wife, Barbara Collins of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Lou Ann Schlagel of Hughes Springs, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Billy Barton of Naples, Texas; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jim Collins of Omaha, Texas and Ed and Donna Collins of New Boston, Texas; nine grandchildren, Chelsea Young and husband Anthony, Kaylee Schlagel, Joey Marxsen and wife Amanda, Mariah Carney, Trace Goforth, Madelyn Barton, Eddie Goforth, Justin Goforth, and Lauren Goforth; three great-grandchildren, Kayden Young, Kaseley Young, and Jaxson Marxsen; numerous other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Bar Nun Cowboy Ministries in Omaha with Bro. Robert Collins, Bro. Ronald Collins, and Bro. Dwaine Higgins officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
