Dorothy Belle Carter, age 86, of Simms, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mrs. Carter was born March 5, 1929 in Simms, Texas.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clayton Carter, in 1977; five brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter, Annie Durham.

Surviving family members include four daughters and son-in-law, Carol and Kenneth Gipson of Omaha, Texas, Velma Durham of Simms, Texas, Francine Carter of Simms, Texas, and Novelle Carter of Simms, Texas; two sons, Robert Carter and wife Francine of Simms, Texas, Doyle Carter and special friend Steve Beck of Texarkana, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Macky Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one sister, Billie Jean Crabtree of Balch Springs, Texas; two grandchildren, Janice Carter and Justin Carter; four step-grandchildren, Amanda and Kenlen Gipson and Danielle and Grayson Thomas; one great-grandchild Zoey Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 20, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel in Naples with Bro. John Ratliff and Bro. Maurice Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Simms, Texas.
