Eldon Kenneth Moon, age 92, of Bryans Mill, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Eldon was born October 6, 1932, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to Hubert Olbern Moon and Bertha Verona Harper Moon.

Eldon was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bryans Mill where he served as a deacon.  He was a United States Army veteran.  He retired from General Motors in Arlington.  Eldon was very involved in church.  He especially loved working with young people and driving the bus to pick up kids for church when he lived in Arlington.  He also enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with cars.

Eldon was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Moon in 2017; his parents; and three brothers, Olbern Moon, W.C. Moon, and Floyd Moon.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Danny Hazlewood of Frisco, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Ruth Moon of Arlington, Richard and Danelle Moon of Arlington, and Michael and Vanessa Moon of Arlington; one brother and sister-in-law, Preston and Betty Moon of Bryans Mill; six grandchildren, Allen Rice, Lee Stephens, Lynn Stephens, Zachary Moon, Michael Kilmer, and Matthew Moon; several step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas with Rev. Michael Kessler officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Center or your local hospice organization.
