Obituary

Nona Faye Galloway Vickers, age 93, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home. Faye was born September 27, 1923 in Omaha to Charles Denton Galloway and Elizabeth Lettie Stevens Galloway.

Faye was a long-time member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha. Faye and her husband moved to Dallas in 1949 and Faye became a beautician. When her husband retired from the Dallas Police Department they moved back to Omaha in 1970. In her later years, she hosted "Faye's Coffee Shop" on Wednesday mornings. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved helping people. She also enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, quilting, and crocheting.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, J.L. Vickers; her parents; one daughter, Dorothy Nell Dozier; two sisters, Vidor Wolfenberger and Mildred Kinsfather; and one brother, TI Galloway.

Surviving family members include one son, Doyle Vickers of Hawarden, Iowa; one daughter, Wanda Jackson of Omaha; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
