Frederick Henry "Fred" Kohler, age 77, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Fred was born October 10, 1947, in San Bernardino, California, to George Elmer Kohler and Verna Marie Penell Kohler.

Fred retired from Pilgrim's Pride, where he was a supervisor, in the ammonia refrigeration department. In his free time, Fred enjoyed working in the yard, swimming, and walking the dog. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl Kohler and Carl Kohler; two brothers-in-law, Rob Jackson and Ronald Loewen; one sister-in-law, Tammy Loewen; one great-grandson, Lamonte Williams Jr; and three nieces, Lara Plett, Paula Kohler, and Theresa Kohler; and one nephew, Eric Kohler.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Kohler of Marietta; five sons, Joseph Kohler of Lawrence, Kansas, Joe Gulnac of Marietta, Terry Mines and wife Regiane of Omaha, Texas, Jeremy Mines and wife Mitzi of San Antonio, Texas, and Brian Mines and wife Chasity of Omaha; four daughters, Krystal Rabindranath and husband Shane of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brianne Kohler of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Melissa Turner and husband Michael of Marietta, and Jennifer Gulnac of Mt. Vernon, Texas; three brothers, James Kohler and wife Ame of California, Dennis Kohler of Arizona, and Edward Kohler and wife Cathy of California; two sisters, Gloria Allee of California and Jane Kohler of California; twenty-three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home.
