Geraldine
Campbell
Nov 4, 1934 — Sep 23, 2023
Naples
On September 23, 2023, Geraldine Haywood Campbell passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in her home in the care of family and loved ones. Geraldine was the biological mother to five children but she became a motherly figure to many more throughout her life.
Geraldine was born November 4, 11934 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Homer Ray and Jewell Allene "Bitsy Momma" Barton Haywood Hill. She worked side by side with her family farming, picking cotton, and sewing. Geraldine married Robert Edward "Buddy" Campbell of January 19, 1950. They raised their children in Daingerfield and eventually moved to the family farm in Naples where they welcomed many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The farm became home to many throughout the years with Buddy and Geraldine's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren bringing friends and loved ones into their lives. Geraldine was quick to tell them "you can call me mother or grandmother" and she became this figure to many.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Buddy" Campbell; brothers, Freddy Haywood and Carol Haywood; sisters Laverne Haywood and Doris Garrett; her son, Robert "Bobby" Campbell; sons-in-law, Glen Black and Loyd Martin; and grandsons, Charles "Robby" McEntire and James "Jim Bob" Coleman.
She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Black, Barbara Martin, Carolyn Campbell, and Lisa Gannon and husband Dennis; daughter-in-law, Colleen Campbell; grandchildren, Chris McEntire, Candy Smith and husband Greg, Misty Banks and husband Lloyd, April Nelson and husband Adam, Patrick Campbell, Kim Coleman, Justin Gannon, Jessica Gannon, and Haley Patterson; great-grandchildren, Cody McEntire, Kierstyn McEntire, Brittany Wright, Cooper Wright, Abbi Bloch, Nicholas Smith, Trent Foster, Bradley Nelson, Brantley Nelson, Eyston Nelson, Elyjah Nelson, Izabelle Coleman, Coleman Godwin, J.P.
