Glenda Nell White, age 82, of Hughes Springs, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. Glenda was born June 5, 1938 in Jefferson, Texas to Alton Murrell and Augusta Beamer "Gussie" Murrell.

Glenda was a member at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs where she played the piano. She retired from Red River Army Depot where she worked in the procurement department.  Glenda and her husband, Dewayne, began growing broilers for Pilgrim's Pride in 1976 and the couple was eventually Grower of the Year.  Glenda loved riding horses.  She was a member of the Sevier County Trail Riders Club and a lifetime member of The Old Spanish Trail Ride.  She also enjoyed raising horses and Airedale terriers.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne White, in 2016; her parents; and one brother, Larry Murrell.

Survivors include one daughter, Carla Witcher of Naples, Texas; two grandchildren, Rowdy Hamilton of Hughes Springs, Texas and Jody Wertz and husband Chester of Leesburg, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Paisley Hamilton, Lenny Hamilton, and Luke Wertz; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Antioch Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Hughes Springs, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Cemetery Association.
