Goldie Faye Obenoskey, age 81, of Simms, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015, in a Mt. Pleasant, Texas hospital. Mrs. Obenoskey was born March 6, 1934 in the Wards Creek community near Simms, Texas to Hiram Tidwell and Ivy Adams.

Goldie was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and she enjoyed flowers. She loved raising children. Goldie was a member at Harvest Temple Church in Simms.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Obenoskey; her mother, Ivy Adams; father, Hiram Tidwell; father-in-law, Jodie W. Obenoskey; and mother-in-law, Viola Mae Coleman.

Surviving family members include her husband of 63 years, Jodie C. Obenoskey of Simms; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry Obenoskey of Hughes Springs, Texas, Perry and GuJuan Obenoskey of Simms, Rodney and Melinda Obenoskey of Simms, Billy and Vicki Obenoskey of Simms, and Charles Obenoskey of Simms; ten grandchildren, Casey Obenoskey and wife Robin, Cheri Beal and husband Cliff, John Obenoskey and wife Penny, Cody Obenoskey and wife Sarah, Bo Obenoskey, Melissa Obenoskey, Shea Osborne and wife Jan, Amanda Swanger and husband Matt, Sarah Yates and husband James, and Kristen Redfearn and husband Brian; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, at the funeral home chapel with Bro. John Ratliff and Bro. Maurice Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Wards Creek Cemetery in Simms.
