Obituary

Grace Marie Dossett, age 86, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Omaha, Texas, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021 in Carrollton, Texas.  Grace was born November 28, 1934 in Dallas, Texas, to Harold Ramey Nunn and Katherine Lela Burk Nunn.

Grace attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas her freshman and sophomore years and graduated from Crozier Technical High School in 1952. She received her BA in education in 1956 and a Master of Education in 1970, both from East Texas State University. She retired from Garland Independent School District after 32 years of teaching prior to moving to the Omaha area.  She and her husband, Joe, quickly became very active in the community.  She was a lifetime member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, past president of the Morris County Retired School Employees Association, member of both First Baptist Church in Naples and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, teaching both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  She also volunteered at local nursing homes.  Grace enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and other crafts. She also enjoyed gardening in her flower beds, her dogs, traveling, reading, spending time with her grandkids, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dossett; her parents; two sisters, Patricia Cozby and Margaret "Peggy" Evans; one infant brother; and one infant grandchild.

Survivors include one son, John Reeves of Omaha; three daughters, Carol and her husband Mike Townsend of Garland, Texas, Gayle and her husband Brad Jacoby of Mabank, Texas, and Alice and her husband Mike Briley of Frisco, Texas; three stepchildren, Bill and his wife Michelle Dossett, Terry Dossett, and DeeAnne Dossett; one cousin, Ted Landers of Oregon; twenty grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Cox officiating.  Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Naples.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morris County Retired School Employees Association scholarship fund.
