Gregorio Contreras Nerio, age 82, of Naples, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at his home.  Gregorio was born March 12, 1942, in Charcas, S.L. Potosi, Mexico to Dionisio Contreras and Narcisa Nerio.

Gregorio was a man of strong Christian faith.  He worked as a welder and served as a missionary for many years.  Gregorio enjoyed playing his guitar and reading.  He loved spending time with his family.  Gregorio was known as a very patient man who was always encouraging others in their spiritual life.

Gregorio was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Severa Contreras, Jose Contreras, Facundo Contreras, Juan Contreras, and Victorio Contreras; one sister, Modesta Contreras; and one grandson, Markus Contreras.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lilia Contreras of Naples; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Mario and Gabriela Contreras of Pittsburg, Texas, Josue and Andrea Contreras of Naples, David and Lupe Contreras of Pittsburg, and Gregorio Contreras of Monterrey, Mexico; one daughter, Marta Contreras of Monterrey; one brother, Isidra Contreras of Monterrey; one sister, Maria Contreras of Santana, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Iglesia Cristo es la Roca in Naples.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Iglesia Cristo es la Roca in Naples with Mario Contreras, Josue Contreras, David Contreras, and Seth Contreras officiating.  Interment will follow at Naples Cemetery in Naples.
