Helen Kate Dawson, age 94, of Sherman, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at her home.  Helen was born April 6, 1927, in Marietta, Texas, to Winfred Eugene Robinson, Sr. and Ena Mae Wommack Robinson.

Helen graduated from Baylor University with a degree in nursing in 1947 and later with a degree in anesthesia in 1962. She worked at Community Hospital, which later became Medical Plaza Hospital. She retired in 1988.  Helen was a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Sherman.  She loved to gamble and go to the horse races.  She also enjoyed fishing and watching football and golf.  Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed word searches.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sheri Springer; three brothers, Winfred Robinson, Jr., Ted Robinson, and Shine Robinson; three sisters, Billie Jean Henson, Ann Robinson, and Jackie Robinson; and one grandson, Colin Dean Roberts.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Carey Roberts of Sherman; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Doris Dawson of Scurry, Texas; six grandchildren, Josh Roberts, Brandon Dawson, Stacy Trammell, Scott Springer, Chris Springer, and Mark Springer; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta, Texas with Dr. Chas Carlisle officiating.
