Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Taylor, age 98, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members, on Friday, November 15, 2024, in McKinney, Texas.  Helen was born July 11, 1926, in McGregor, Texas, to Jeptha Oceola "J.O." Jolly, Sr. and Cora Edith Saxon Jolly.

Helen attended East Texas State University and Baylor University.  Upon moving to Longview, she worked for the telephone company, and then became a homemaker while raising her children.  Helen then went to work for Texas Eastman Kodak as a buyer's assistant.  Helen was very active in her church, First Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.  She volunteered in the children's department, the homebound ministry, and numerous other organizations within the church.  Helen had the gift of hospitality.  She loved serving and helping others.  Helen also enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with family and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Taylor; her parents; one daughter, Teresa Huffman; one brother, J.O. Jolly, Jr.; and three sisters, Louise Davis, Evelyn McMaster, and Doris McIntire.

Survivors include one daughter and two sons-in-law, Susan and Neil Motley of Van Alstyne and Mike Huffman of Ft. Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Kyle Motley and wife Allison, Keith Motley and wife Trista, Micah Huffman and wife Jessica, and Michele Huffman; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.  Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha, Texas.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to the care staff at Legend of McKinney, the nursing and care staff at McKinney Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, and Heart to Heart Hospice for their care.
