Obituary

Hellon Beth Catlett, age 90, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her home. Hellon was born January 27, 1928 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Richard A. Brazil and Beatrice Sullivan Brazil.

Hellon was a member at First Baptist Church in Omaha. She retired as a Texas Extension Agent, having worked in Hunt County and Bowie County. Hellon received her Masters degree from East Texas State University. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Mt. Pleasant Art Society and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed photography, painting, sculpting and Asian design and style. Hellon also enjoyed cooking, sewing and working in her garden. She loved all animals.

Hellon was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Catlett in 2006; her parents; one son, David Catlett; two brothers, WT Brazil and Donovan Brazil; and three sisters, Dessie Brookshire, Dale Fournier and Lorraine Groves.

Surviving family members include one son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Sylvia Catlett of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan and Paul Story of Camden, Arkansas, and Mary Carley of Holly Lake Ranch; five grandchildren, Valerie Mickelsen, Joel Catlett, Krystal Smith, Katherine Carley and Janelle Carley; three great-grandchildren, Harry Smith, Paul Smith and Patrick Foster; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Keith Lauter officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the funeral.
