Henry Lorenza Oakes, age 85, of Naples, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his home. Henry was born December 25, 1938, in Frogville, Oklahoma, to James Grant Oakes and Ruby Rosson Oakes.

Henry worked as a telephone cable splicer for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran. Henry enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, David Oakes, Sam Oakes, Bunion Oakes, and Ernest Oakes; five sisters, Lola Withrow, LaJuan Withrow, Joyce Withrow, Syble Makerney, and Tommie Oakes.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Oakes of Naples, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwendolynn Oakes Brown Hensley and husband Robby of Marionville, Missouri and Vera Marie Oakes Sartin and husband Steve of Clever, Missouri; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jerry Berndt of Willis Point, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Oakes of Fort Towson, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Clinton Sartin and wife Courtney, Lori Sartin Miller and husband Jody, Barbara Brown Neely and husband Bryan, Leah Sartin Wise and husband Jason; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.
