Horton Boozer was born May 9 1928 to Robert Fulton Blair and Lora Polley Blair at their rural home place in Swink, Oklahoma. She closed her eyes a final time on Monday, December 6,2021.
Hortie married J.B. Boozer on August 7, 1956. They lived in the Dallas area many years, worked together, and retired from Colgin Companies where they made seasonings and meat sauces. They always kept the family supplied with some of these items, especially Liquid Smoke! They spent most of their retired years in Omaha, Texas. Hortie enjoyed gardening with J.B., housekeeping and visiting her large family. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Omaha.
Hortie was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, J.B. Boozer; her parents Robert and Lora Blair; her twin sister Molean Martin; sisters Mary Tigert, Nancy Pendergrass and Katie Willingham; brothers Palmer Blair, Paul Blair and Steve Blair.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law Melvina Blair and June Blair and a host of nieces and nephews who loved and adored their Aunt Hortie, and who were instrumental in her care during her later years.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas with Rev. Charles Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha, Texas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
