Ida Rose Berger, age 84, of Homer, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at her home. Ida was born May 27, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Benjamin Jacob James Peters and Mattie Fay Butler Peters.

Ida is a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Homer, Louisiana. She was the president of Parents Without Partners and was also on the Council of Aging in Homer. Ida worked in finance for Placid Oil. She loved doing art with gourds and embroidery. Ida enjoyed playing games with her friends, weaving baskets out of pine straw, and painting landscapes.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Berger; her parents; two brothers, Barney Peters and Paul Peters; one sister, Julia Peters.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Hawk and wife Candis of Hondo, Texas and Sean Berger of Port Allen, Louisiana; three brothers Ward Peters of Fernandina, Florida, John Peters and wife Martha of Homer, Louisiana, and Curtis Peters and wife Ruby of Naples, Texas; three grandchildren, Bailey Hawk, Eir Hawk, and Kelia Brewer; one great grandchild, Samari Hawk; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church in Homer Louisiana with Bro. Steve Beard officiating.
