Lela Idora Thompson, age 87, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Idora was born April 15, 1931 in Bryans Mill, Texas to Jimmie Ludell Harrison and Thelma Vertrice Baskin Harrison.
Idora was a member at First Baptist Church in Omaha. She was a school teacher and a homemaker. Idora enjoyed arts and crafts. She spent many hours making quilts and various other crafts such as crocheting and cross-stitching.
Idora was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rick Thompson; and two brothers, Clifton Harrison and Clay Harrison.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Bill Thompson of Omaha; one daughter-in-law, Julia Thompson of Columbia, Louisiana; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Bob and Theresa Thompson of Sunnyvale, Texas, John and Wanda Thompson of Mesquite, Texas, and Barbara Harrison of Bryans Mill, Texas; one grandson, Daniel Thompson of Shreveport, Louisiana; special friend and caretaker, Eva Marlar of Omaha; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Keith Lauter and Rev. Neal Thornburg officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bryans Mill.
