Betty Ione Derrick, age 102, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Naples, Texas. Ione was born April 28, 1916 in Sweetwater, Texas to Robert Monroe Causey and Lydia Mae Tucker Causey.

Ione was a life-long member at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Omaha. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and homemaking. She also enjoyed singing. Ione was a very loving mother.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Derrick in 1999; her parents; one daughter, Virginia Derrick; and two sisters, Clarice Rosewell and Alice Hultsman.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lisa Derrick of Omaha; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Wilson of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Linda and Pat Burke of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, her twin Irene Hammonds of Texarkana, Texas and Ann Gibson of Wylie, Texas; six grandchildren, Jeff Derrick and wife Jennifer, Lisa Alford and husband Scott, Kara Odom and husband Will, Michael Wilson and wife Terry, Richard Wilson and wife Beth, and John Wilson and wife Mary; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Chris Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha.
