Mary Irene Hammonds, age 102, formerly of Omaha, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, March 19, 2019.  Irene was born April 28, 1916 in Sweetwater, Texas to Robert and Lydia Causey.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlan Hammonds; son, Robert Hammonds; three sisters, Clarice Rosewell, Alice Hultsman, and her twin, Ione Derrick.

Survivors include her daughter, Rena Watson of Texarkana, Texas; sister, Ann Gibson of Wiley, Texas; three grandchildren, Angela Watson, Melanie Ruth and husband Michael, Mike Hammonds and wife Shawntay; five great-grandchildren, Hannah Holland, Kaleigh Hammonds, Kaden Hammonds, Jade Ruth, and Slate Ruth; one daughter-in-law, Marianne Hammonds; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha with Rev. Chris Fowler officiating.
