Iris Vergene Howard Harte was born September 3, 1928 in Panama City, Florida to Grover and Ellen Manning Howard.  She married Forrest David Harte on June 1, 1945.  They moved to Naples, Texas and later to Lone Star, Texas.  She passed away at her home on December 7, 2019 at the age of 91.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Joel Travis Harte; one son-in-law, Jerry Lynn Coker; brothers, Calvin Howard and Ernest Howard, Glen Howard and wife Mazie; infant sister, Eva, and sister Marie McCaully and husband Joe, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Day.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Harte Coker of Lone Star; son, Michael David Harte of Jenkins, Texas; sister, Myrna Day of Homestead, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne Coker Burnett and husband Allen of Winnsboro, Texas, Amanda Coker White and husband Jeremy of Cleburne, Texas, Ryan David Harte and wife Jensie of Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Justin Allen Burnett, Georgia Lynne Burnett, and Forrest Emery Harte.

She worked as an office manager for C&H Trucking Company and Air Products of Lone Star, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.  A private family graveside will be held later.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
