James Weldon "Bear" Barron, Jr., age 73, of Naples, Texas, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home. Bear was born November 22, 1952, in Naples.
Bear retired from International Mill Services in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, hunting, and especially enjoyed playing jokes on others. Bear loved spending time with his family.
Bear was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Barron, in 2016; father and stepmother, James W. Barron, Sr. and Sue Barron; mother and stepfather, Jean and James Blackwood; one son-in-law, Jason Wiginton; and four stepbrothers, David Brock, Gary Brock, Bobby Brock, and Wesley Brock.
Survivors include two daughters, Jamie Annette Barron and Courtney Wiginton, both of Naples; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Debbie Barron of Omaha, Texas and Doug and Rebecca Barron of Marietta, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Loretta Roach and Donnie Rowland of Naples; one step-sister, Linda Brock of Daingerfield, Texas; six grandchildren, Andre Barron and wife Aleea Rountree, Rebecka Davis and husband Justin, ReAnna Chaline, Baleigh Frutos and husband Manuel, Rachel Moore and husband Garrett, and Kaden Wiginton; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Barron, Novah Thomas, Emanuel Frutos, and Hayes Moore; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Mach 21, 2026, at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Tommy Barron officiating.
