James Edward Tucker, age 73, of Atlanta, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Atlanta. James was born January 26, 1950, in Naples, Texas, to George W. Tucker and Allie Lee Goodwin Tucker.

James was a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church.  He drove a truck all of his adult life and retired from Pilgrim's Pride.  James loved to hunt and fish.  He also enjoyed playing practical jokes on the people around him.

James was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chris Johnson; one brother, George Tucker; one sister, Darma Hatfield; and one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Gentry.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Patricia Tucker of Atlanta; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Lee and Samantha Renee Tucker of Olny, Texas, Brent and Sharron Tucker of Linden, Texas, K.C. Gentry of Mt. Vernon, Texas, and Mark Gentry of Atlanta; one daughter, Andi Davis of Atlanta; two sisters, Atha Wigington of Spencerville, Oklahoma and Virginia Radford of New Boston, Texas; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Rev. Jeff McCreary officiating.  Interment will follow at Creekmore Cemetery in Naples.
